Hello, November.

I love the start of a new month. Each one is like a miniature clean slate of sorts. Loose strings are tied up. New goals are penned, plans are put into motion, and life as we know it continues to move forward.

November is an especially exciting month for me. Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and that means the holiday season is bout to officially kick off. I’m obsessed with all things Christmas, and can’t wait until the day after we stuff ourselves with turkey to set everything up in my house. Fall is still going strong here in Minneapolis, and being that it’s my favorite of all the seasons, this leaves a perpetual smile on my face. My favorite drinks are coming back to Starbucks and in 11 days I leave for a weeklong vacation to my best friend’s house in St. Louis. There’s so much to look forward to, and even more to be thankful for.

So, goodbye October. It was real and it was good.

Hello, November.

Testing, testing. 1, 2, 3.

Anyone out there?

I’m here, staking a claim on what shall officially become my corner of the Interwebs.

I’m no stranger to the blogosphere. I’ve been doing it since I was a teenager, tinkering here and there, trying my hand at freelance design work, and finally getting into a groove with celebrity and book blogging. What I’ve never been consistent with, however, is personal blogging. Keeping a place where I can throw out my thoughts, share experiences, recipes, motivation, etc. And while I could do all of those things on my other social media platforms, I think it best to keep things separate.

I’m not sure what you’re going to find here if you keep coming back for more. My life is relatively mundane, but at the same time filled with these incredible moments of hilarity and happiness. I’m sure a few of those will show up here. I’m learning how to navigate the dating world after being out of it for half a decade, and let me tell you, dating in your 30s is an entirely different ballpark. I’m sure that will show up here as well. Just … expect a mishmash of all things Nikki. Expect inspiration, humor, angst, ooohs and ahhhs, and everything in between.
